The New 2011 Dodge Durango

Long Island Dodge dealer, Westbury Jeep Chrysler Dodge, confirms the all-new 2011 Dodge Durango will go into production later this year.  The new model rivals the ever-popular Jeep Grand Cherokee with a high-end interior feel and standard 290-horsepower Pentastar V6.

The next generation 2011 Dodge Durango is already causing quite a buzz in the auto industry with the newest photos recently released.  Fast lines and a slick interior is what Dodge is using to describe its new look.  Many are saying that the new Durango will rival the Grand Cherokee, with three rows of seating space available in this performance SUV.

2011 Dodge Durango Trims

The Durango was introduced in 1998 and had its first real redesign in 2004. In 2009, the model was discontinued, making the debut of the 2011 version even more exciting.   Dodge is keeping mum on the details of the Durango’s new look and performance capabilities, releasing only small bits of information to the media.    The expected models to be announced from Dodge include the Durango Crew, Express, Heat, Boulevard, and RT.  All are expected to be available in both 4×2 and 4×4 versions.

Seating configurations will be for five or seven passengers. The front passenger seat can be folded flat, the second row will have a 60/40 fold and tumble seat, and the third row seat will include headrests that can be lowered by the driver for a better rear view.

Many are speculating that the Durango will share many of the same advanced technology and safety features as the new Jeep Grand Cherokee.  Among those shared features are the new Alpine premium audio system, active head restraints, rear cross path protection, hill start assist, keyless entry and push button start.

Westbury Dodge in Long Island will be releasing additional information of the new Durango as it becomes available.  Long Island Dodge shoppers can keep up with the latest news by visiting their blog site, http://www.westburyjeepchryslerdodge.com/

Dodge Grand Caravan Long IslandThe 2010 Chrysler Grand Caravan has strong safety scores and plenty of versatile passenger and cargo space, making this the ideal kid-friendly family van.  The Grand Caravan features a seven-passenger cabin and Stow ‘n Go or Swivel ‘n Go seating. Stow ‘n Go allows seats to fold into the floor to increase cargo space, while Swivel ‘n Go allows the second row to rotate backward to face the third row and a collapsible table to be erected in between.

The 2010 Grand Caravan packs as much cargo space as it does comfortable seating.  It provides 143.8 cubic-feet (140.1 in the SXT) of storage behind the front seats, 82.6 cubic-feet (83.6 in the SXT) behind the second row, and 32.3 cubic-feet behind the third row.

The Chrysler Grand Caravan has collected more than its share of awards and praise. Among its most notable recognitions for 2009 is that of “Most Dependable Van,” from J.D. The Town and Country received the MotorWeek Drivers’ Choice Award for “Best Minivan” 2 years in a row, a Consumers Digest “Automotive Best Buy”, the 2009 Active Lifestyle Award – For Best Minivan, and a Polk Automotive Loyalty Award.  The interior of the Town & Country is spacious, filled with kid-friendly features, and has an innovative selection of seating arrangements.  The dizzying array of available features include dual glove boxes and heated seats in front and second rows, a tire-pressure monitor, a mirror to monitor kids in back, ambient lighting in the roof console, swiveling reading lamps in the rear, a remote engine starter, a rechargeable LED flashlight tucked into the cargo area, plus a number of grocery-bag hooks

The 2010 Town & Country seats seven passengers and also features either the Stow ‘n Go seating system or a Swivel ‘n Go system as seen in the Chrysler Caravan.  Reviewers like Forbes magazine enjoyed the convenience of the Town & Country’s seating options, stating, “One of the most interesting innovations is the optional Swivel ‘n Go seating system. The two second-row captain’s chairs smoothly pivot around to face the third row, and a removable, stowable tabletop pops into place between the rows of seats – perfect for card games, homework or meals-on-the-go.”
