Classic Jeep® design cues, rugged off-road capability and some innovative bells and whistles, like the available Sky Slider™ Roof, makes Jeep® Liberty stand out from the competition. Add to that its powerful, yet efficient engine and standard advanced safety and security systems, and you have a vehicle that doesn’t just stand out from the competition, but rides right over it.

Serious gusto.
The 2009 Liberty has classic Jeep® brand style, thanks to those much-loved design cues—the seven-slot grille, trapezoidal wheel openings, round headlamps and ready stance.
And, get the wide angle thanks to Liberty’s available Sky Slider™ roof with massive 33×60-inch opening. Liberty has a fun personality.

Available Sky Slider™ Roof
Jeep® Liberty features that blend convenience with comfort and adventure include: rain sensitive windshield wipers and Automatic Temperature Control with air filtration.
Now you can live life wide-open without owning a convertible. Liberty’s innovative Sky Slider™ roof has the largest opening in its class[1] with a 255% (3.5 times) larger opening than the competition.

Take a look and you’ll be duly impressed.
Liberty has many civilized amenities with comfort and convenience that may surprise you.
You’ll really appreciate the updated luxury leather accents and two-tone trim with Satin Silver center stack and trim accents.
Gauges are easy to spot, and the radio knobs and temperature controls are simple to use.
4WD mastery and leadership – it has always been at the core of the Jeep® brand.
A Jeep Trail Rated® badge is found on all 4x4s that pass a series of grueling tests designed to prove off-road capability on the world’s most demanding terrain.

There are five main categories of testing:

Power up to Go Anywhere, Do Anything™.
Liberty’s standard 3.7L SOHC V6 engine churns out 210-horsepower with 235 lb-ft of torque.
Liberty’s V6 engine’s pistons are made of lightweight aluminum and precision-forged powder metal connecting rods to minimize weight (also helps contribute to the engine’s high rpm capability).
Liberty’s advanced four-speed transmission uses fully adaptive electronic control for exceptionally smooth shifting.
Push the TOW / HAUL button next to the shifter for improved vehicle performance and fuel economy while minimizing engine noise during trailer towing or heavy-load hauling. The TOW / HAUL mode inhibits fourth gear and allows upshifts to third gear during higher speed / lighter loads.
Safety and security come first.
Advanced multistage driver and front-passenger airbags[1] with Occupant Classification System (OCS), supplemental side-curtain airbags[1], and roll-sensing technology for additional side-impact protection. All five passengers have shoulder restraint seatbelts.
Liberty uses high-strength alloy steel for added energy absorption: 70% of the underbody is high-strength steel, 30% of the upper body is high-strength steel.
